ARPTalk, Issue 10
February 14, 2009
Welcome to the tenth issue of ARPTalk. Featured in ARPTalk(10) are the following four articles:
(10.1) CORRECTION AND APOLOGY
(10.2) SARVA DHARMA SAMA NATVA, by Rev. Sue Anne Steffey Morrison. We in ARPdom are sheltered. This is what full-blown universalism looks like in a PC(USA) congregation. Enjoy! Ugh!
(10.3) WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN, PRESBYTERIAN, METHODIST, LESBIAN, BUDDHIST, UNITARIAN WEDDING CEREMONY? The article is taken from the Presbyterian News Service. The Rev. Janet Edwards officiated at this monstrous farce of a wedding. A minister in the PC(USA), Rev. Edwards is a descendent of Jonathan Edwards. In this case, the “nut” has fallen far from the tree.
(10.3) THE MARKS OF THE CHURCH APPLIED TO THE PCUSA, by Dr. John Gerstner. This article is dated; however, it is most relevant to ARPdom and our relationship to the PC(USA). Here’s a good subtitle for this article: WHY THE ARPC SHOULD BREAK ALL RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE NON-CHURCH PC(USA).
If you are new to ARPTalk, ARPTalk is NOT an official voice of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. The purposes of ARPTalk are two-fold: (1) To inform and educate the ministers and laypeople of ARPdom on significant issues that are before ARPdom; and (2) To give voice to and encouragement to those who feel they have been ignored and marginalized.
ARPTalk is free to those who want it. If you are on the mailing list of ARPTalk, it is because you are an ARP minister or layperson or someone who is interested in the ARPC or things Presbyterian in general. If you do not want to read this issue of ARPTalk, please do not open the attachment. If you do not want to be on the mailing list of ARPTalk, please click on the following site address (ARPTalk@bellsouth.net) and request that your name be removed and your address will be promptly removed.
If you have thoughts, articles, reviews, criticisms, or news that are of interest to the ministers and laypersons of ARPdom, and if you submit them, they will most likely publish them in ARPTalk.
If you have missed past issues of ARPTalk, this blog site is used archivally to store past issues. If that doesn’t work, e-mail me at wilson6114@bellsouth.net and copies will be sent to you.
I hope you find ARPTalk(10) interesting and informative. I look forward to hearing from you.
The opinions expressed in the articles of ARPtalk are the opinions of the writers. There are no anonymous articles in ARPTalk.
Charles (“Chuck”) W. Wilson
