ARPTalk, Issue 22
August 13, 2009
Welcome to the twenty-second (22nd) issue of ARPTalk. Featured in ARPTalk(22) are the following three (3) articles:
(22.1) LETTERS AND THINGS
(22.1.1) “The Creation According to Atheists,” by Mr. Frank J. Fleming – This hilarious spoof is taken from the blog PajamaMedia. Read about the idol Athor, the god of evolution.
(22.1.2) “Integration of FAITH and SCIENCE,” by Dr. Sam Gray– Dr. Gray is a 1995 graduate of Erskine College, and he has a Ph.D. in genetics from Clemson University. As a teacher of science who is also an evangelical Christian, Dr. Gray finds that it is not impossible to integrate science and faith in a Christian worldview. This article reflects some of his musings on this subject.
(22.1.3) Another Story of An ARP Student Who Will Not Attend Erskine College Because of Erskine’s Lack of A Christian Worldview – In this letter to the Editor, Rev. Fank van Dalen tells why he and his wife chose not to send their daughter to Erskine College.
(22.1.4) “Is Erskine Unique?” by Rev. Ken McMullen – This article was first printed in The Associate Reformed Presbyterian in 1986. Rev. McMullen’s article clearly demonstrates that the Erskine “mess” is long and well documented.
(22.1.5) Billy Mays for ETS! – This is a copy of an e-mail that was sent out by the ETS Administration. The Editor did not make this up. Indeed, Billy Mays has moved to Due West, SC, and now works for ETS!
(22.2) IS ERSKINE’S RANKING TANKING? by Charles W. Wilson – Historically Erskine College has been known for its academic ranking. It now looks as though that ranking is tanking.
(22.3) RUBLE TO RESIGN?!? by Charles W. Wilson – The word on the streets of Due West is that Dr. Randy Ruble, President of Erskine College and Seminary, is saying that he plans to resign in May. Well, with all the trouble in Due West, perhaps now is better than May.
